Felt is such a great medium to make kid crafts with. You don't have to worry about fraying edges, it's inexpensive, and it's easy to work with.

Thanks for these suggestions. I had some extra felt left over from a couple of projects (plus a quick run to JoAnn's) and was feeling crafty today. My daughter LOVES princesses, so we whipped up the princess finger puppets this afternoon. Her eyes lit up as we finished each princess and she has been carrying her castle purse around since we finished. Awesome!
