Felt Tools



There are a lot of girly projects floating around in blogland and not enough for the boys . . .

Need something for your little man?

How about some very manly tools made out of felt?



Perfect for fixing everything around the house . . . and they won't leave a dent on your furniture . . .

Want to make your own?  Here's how I made them:


First I drew up a pattern for my tools.

Then I cut them out in felt.  Everything gray I cut two of to make my tools a little sturdier.  Everything else I cut one of.


I then pieced my tools together and sewed around the edges to give them a finished look.

You don't have to have a sewing machine to do this project though.  You can use "fusible webbing" or "wonder under" to fuse your pieces together with an iron, and then you don't have to sew them at all.  Very simple.  Anyone can make these.

    Too adorable! Could you scan your already made pattern to leave out the guess work? Mine always turn out wonky...ugh!

    These are so cute! My 1 year old boy is always running around with his big sisters toy screwdriver and I'm pretty sure he's going to gauge an eye out. These would just be perfect. Thanks for the cute idea!

    Very cute! You're so creative. Wish I'd made these for Aaron instead of buying little plastic tools that he DOES bang on the furniture ... and mirrors ... and windows! (In fact his hammer is currently hiding away in my spice cabinet so he can't get to it.)

    I found this tute via Craft Gossip -- love it! My daughter has been asking for a set of tools for awhile. She's almost 3, so I want some that are kid-friendly. And, I don't want to pay a lot! This is perfect. I'll have to dig through my felt stash and find the supplies for her own tool kit.

    I made my own patterns but prefer the one you have, is there are pattern available, perhaps I missed it somewhere?
